Funny how seemingly trivial things could sometimes make an impact in our lives.After procrastinating for a long time, I recently bought a VCD copy of the movie, “The Pursuit of Happyness.” I could have watched it on the big screen for free since I get complimentary movie tickets from where I work plus I saw it being aired already in HBO, but after having seen the trailer, I thought, “do I really want to torture myself?!?” I fear it might just exacerbate my growing frustration and dwindling self-esteem.
Trouble is, in as much as I wanted to evade everything that would remind me of how “stupid” my life has become, I am just a sucker for bargains!As I predicted, even before halfway during the flick, I was already bawling like an idiot. When Chris (Will Smith) insisted on keeping Christopher (Jaden Smith) after his wife decided to bail out on him, I remember how I hold on very tightly to my own daughter after my own marriage went down the drain.
