THE BUS

The only perk is that I get to watch a movie or two for free. The downside however is that I have to be contented with whatever flick the driver or conductor fancies.
In the years that I’ve been traveling back and forth Manila, I noticed one bit of an odd thing about the kind of movies they play. Most of these guys have a fetish for horror or thrillers movies, ESPECIALLY during the early morning hours, starting from around 4:00 AM and again when I go home, usually at around 7 or 8:00 PM. Now I don’t have anything about such movies (as long as I’m miles away from it!), but at 4:00 AM??? To think that over the past two years or so, I usually just travel to Manila just to attend a job interview. I’m telling you, it’s not so easy trying hard not to think of zombies or psycho serial killers right in the middle of those interviews!
The last movie I saw on the bus was “The Mist,” which is a good movie really. It’s actually another bestseller by the great Stephen King. However, considering how morbid the ending turned out to be, I really wouldn’t recommend it if you’re about to make an important presentation, attend a job interview, or if you’re about to propose marriage to the woman of your dreams!
